Wondering if your PS is having issues. For two cards to not work it might be suspect.
Do you have another computer you can try the cards in?
Back to your old card.
What version of the driver are you running and have you confirmed the fan is running?
You can confirm temps and stuff with this tool: http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php
I love the eVGA tool.
Great to see temps, FPS and fan speeds and it can also display it on screen too.
The card fan and heat-sink can get clogged up or the heat sink on the gpu loses connectivity and needs new paste.
It is also possible you might have those Nividea drivers installed the broke the fans control: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/announcement.php?f=14
The latest driver fixes it.
I also have the eVGA Precision card control tool: http://www.evga.com/PRecision/
If you can't get a copy from the site I can make it available to you so you can download it.
Second that on the 200 series cards.
On your crashed card I am willing to bet it is full of dust bunnies.
What card do you have? BFBC2 really stresses directx and your GPU temps might have reached crash temps.

See news on COD that they will have no dedicated servers...I really miss the old days.
Heh. So you know how to do the switch?
Catch you Tuesday night unless I get hit by a beer truck.
