Team Speak 3 with me anyway. I find it has less bugs and years of updates and improvements. Second choice would be Ventrilo and then maybe mumble, although there are a few others out there that might be better.
so its $45 for 50 slots on TS lol but i also found the non profit with 512 slots yet every time i click it it says stop this is non profit use only thats what im using it for lol playing a game isnt profitable
Why? Because it has a ton of features that other programs either A) Don't have, or B) Are a task and a half to set up.
It's user-friendly. It's noise-friendly. It autobalances voices, it can change your in-game volume when players talk (which is nice in SOME games) and it's customizable with server banners, channel banners, avatars, ranks, all the stuff that other VOIPs have, but again I stress, it's just easier to do on TeamSpeak.
I've used Ventrilo, I've used Mumble, but TeamSpeak has always made me come back. But it's all personal preference IMO.
teamspeak 3 is easy to manage, you can use it for file hosting, as well a voice / chat server. You can send offline messages to others and have cool ranks / icons. There are a lot of community plugins and texture to stylize your teamspeak client how you want it.
I have my own teamspeak 3 server for over 3 years now and i love it. I also have a free mumble server with my enjin website but i never really use it. I dislike vent because its the same ugly thing it was 5 years ago. Back then, it was on par with teamspeak 2. When teamspeak 3 came about it completely outclassed vent in every way
