Here at Enjin, we value the sophisticated and suave gamer. One might say they’re a rare breed. Imagine our delight and surprise when we stumbled upon the Respected Gentlemen site. We don’t know if it was the sharpness and contrast of the theme or the monocle on the Respected Gentlemen logo at the top. Either way, it’s a slick looking design which is certainly deserving of our… uh, respect.

About the community

A multi-gaming community formed January 8th, 2011. Respected Gentlemen is a group of tight knit friends that are ready to expand into the gaming community. Originally apart of Need2Dominate since 1998, we've recently moved from the pack and created our own community to manage. We have our own website, Ventrilo, and competitive teams for other games. We've been apart of MMORPGs since the beginning of World of Warcraft, and have delved into some other Free 2 Play titles since then. Currently we are still in the early stages of the community, with a few people on Ventrilo here and there, and we are hunting new members in order to expand our activity. Below, I've listed more information our play style and ethics.

Tell us a little more about the clan. How long have you been around for and what are your long term goals?

The Organizations long term goals consist of being the most widely known/active/multi-platform gaming community in which every member has the opportunity to be a leader of their own team ranging from a very wide number of members. We started on January 1, 2011 with about 10 members from a previous CoD:WaW clan. Our main focus is respect, though we reach out to or skill based members with cash prize and Microsoft point tournaments. Our goal is to not be limited to one tag but instead have several names representing us. One tag per game underneath the ORG umbrella to maximize member growth and site growth

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 isn't even out yet. How do you keep the players engaged with the clan?

As far as Modern Warfare 3 goes, we started as a black ops clan and expanded slightly onto halo reach when we were about 500 members large. We plan to branch into all new xbox 360 main shooters (gears of war 3, battlefield 3, modern warfare 3).

We are currently organizing the branch off for the release date

That's a great looking theme! Who came up with the overall design and what inspired it?

I created the theme through trial an error ( not so much error as much as wanting to improve) It was inspired by our devotion to FPS and call of duty series.

What is the one piece of advice you would offer to anyone looking to start their own clan?

One piece of advice i have for other clan leaders is, patience and devotion, Take your time to build your clan right, recruit helpful individuals that believe in the clans purpose and are willing to help split the workload. Don't be discouraged by failure use it as a lesson learned and try not to repeat the same mistakes twice.

What support or integration would you like to see from Enjin that can help you manage your role better as an administrator?

To better my role as an admin besides the updates on new features (which I love) would be a way for me to compose a list of every email address that was used to register to my site. This way i can compile a list of prospects to further promote our clans cause and features.

Unlike other communities on Enjin which are guilds or clans, you guys host your own league! How did that start?

Well, we were in clans and saw that there was a gap in the market for an organised FIFA league. So after a little bit of research we decided to start off small with a few clans that we knew. Using Enjin was an easy choice due to the initial cost for a startup and we felt it offered the best features for what we wanted. So we created XPS, as we started to get a name for ourselves with more and more FIFA players joining, we rebranded to XFL - Xbox FIFA Leagues and are now the best known FIFA league on Xbox 360 for clans.

What are some of the challenges that you face as a league administrator?

Well, there are a few. The main objective of the league is to make sure we run the fairest and friendliest league there is, so clans know that they can trust us. The number one challenge is just that, to make the leagues fair for everyone. We also face competition from other sites, so staying ahead of the game in terms of features and ideas is also key. However we feel that we are right on the money, in terms of listening to our community and also making our site a must be destination.

What type of advice would you offer for anyone who wants to initiate and start their own league on another game or platform?

Be unique, look for that gap in the market. There are many people that think they can start a league for the most popular games (like Call of Duty) but there are many leagues that cater for that, so think of a game that has a great community but may not have that form of a structured league. If you are one of only a handful of people that cater for that game, you will get players in no time. Also, do your research on the game first. Be sure that you know every aspect of the game first, so that you can think of every eventuality.

Are there any plans for the XFL to expand in either size or in games supported?

XFL has a future game plan to expand in terms of more leagues and features but we are not going to rush them. We have many ideas that we know we are going to start but we are going to make sure we know every aspect of them first before we release them, other leagues may release their ideas before us, but we will do them better because of the planning stage. In terms of games supported we will always stick to FIFA because that is what we know and understand. Also we don't want to saturate the market by trying to do too many games, we would rather do one game well, than do 3 games okay.

What features not available on Enjin would you like to see implemented that can help you with the operation of the XFL?

In terms of XFL because we are a league and that there are many leagues that use Enjin, the number one feature that we would absolutely love would be automated tables and fixtures. With as many leagues and players that we have, that is a lot of manually edited tables, results and fixtures that takes many hours.

In terms of general Enjin additions, there would be two things we would love to see.
1. Xbox 360 avatar integration for the highest packages (so that it isn't available to every site). We would love to be able to have Xbox 360 avatars automatically integrated into the site, so a possibility of this would be that if you set up a team, when people join that team, their Xbox 360 avatar ends up lining up like a squad page.

2. If this is available, then please tell us how ... But having the option to put an external website within the frame of your Enjin site, so that if you have additional sites that may be linked, then you could house them within the site, rather than them having to be redirected away from your site.
