TERA Online hasn’t been released yet. What attracted you to form a guild for this game?

Well I met up with a talented guy named Nectemar back in October of last year pretty much in a clan we both played for in a game called League of Legends. This clan was not very good and we talked a lot about forming our own. Eventually we both decided we wanted to play something really different and TERA is what came to mind. It has this very interesting formula of action combat set in the MMORPG world. It really struck a chord with both of us in the way we both wanted something new from our gaming experience.

Are there any challenges when running a guild for a game that has yet to be released?

Yes, there are many. The biggest of which is forming a community and sense of brotherhood around a game that does not yet exist. We didn't expect TERA's release to still be pending at this point so what we thought would be a modest few month wait is turning into nearly a year. Through it all we've had a mixed bag of people come in and go out mostly due to inactivity because we all wanted TERA but it was so far away. However, I've recruited some very passionate and talented people who have supported me tremendously in this effort as we move toward being a year old, some of which have been here for most of that year. Their loyalty and passion is what makes this guild tick.

How do you keep players interested in the organization and the game?

We've tried many things, some have worked well, some not so well. The obvious one is playing games together that are free and easily accessible to the guild as a whole. League of Legends, Iris Online, Vindictus, and now APB just to name a few. We also are doing what we call Graviora Manent Game Night where we all get together on friday nights and play simpler games just for fun such as Monopoly, iSketch, Poker, and more. But we also have something that is very unique to us that brings truly passionate people to our community and makes them stay. We approach a guild community from a totally new angle that I think most people don't expect and they get a sense of loyalty, caring, and friendship here that they don't normally see in other guilds. Cheesy as it sounds, we're all friends. We chat on Facebook, we swap phone numbers, we share our experiences and our humor every day.

Your guild site has an incredible, animated splash page. Who designed it and what influenced the overall theme and feel of the site?

The overall design and feel of the site was a very team oriented effort. Nectemar our original site designer sort of laid the foundation for what was Graviora Manent on a different host. When we moved to Enjin I wanted us to maintain that identity but in a new way. Reiko aka Kim our talented Admin Officer stepped up to the challenge to add her own very talented abilities as an artist to the vision of the future of GM. Together we worked tirelessly for almost two weeks creating backgrounds, themes, and discussing ideas. The splash page itself was very much Reiko's vision who spent a lot of hours animating and aligning the page properly and giving us that dash of unique character that I think makes us stand out.

One thing we always agreed on was we felt a lot of guild sites go with a very simple, clean, functional only site design. Devoid of character or depth or personality. I wanted more than that from our new Enjin site and I have to put a lot of thanks toward Kim's talented artistry and Nectemar's wizard like Photoshop skills. I mostly sat back and handled the internals of the widgets, importing information, setting up ranks, etc. That was the easy part by comparison!

What type of additions would you like to see from Enjin that will help you with your guild site?

Well there are many things I think Enjin could probably offer to TERA guilds in general that would be nice. Such as something like those handy progression tools when the information is available, a recruitment widget that has some nice functionality and class listings on it much like WoW ones I've seen. Also I look eagerly forward as I think many people do to the upcoming Application upgrades as the most important thing we do as guild leaders is try to make the process by which people can view our guild and then apply as easy as it can be. New applicants are the life blood of our guild and anything we can do to make that process more efficient is great.
